I have very distinct memories of my grandmothers and many of their sisters, my great-aunts, wearing house dresses and cooking wonderful treats. My great-aunt, Stella, made after-dinner mints for every special family occasion. These reproduction fabrics capture some of those memories. 

Stella's After-Dinner Mints

4 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk (or more if too dry)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 drops mint flavoring

Mix all ingredients together and press into candy molds. When set, press out and store in an airtight container.
